Daily Schedule 2023

As clients go through the stabilization or detox process, they gain confidence from the consistent daily routines embedded in SolutionPoint’s structured programs.

While a typical day at SolutionPoint may vary from client to client, here is a basic outline of a daily schedule in our residence program.

  • 7:00 am Clients wake up and get ready for the day ahead.

  • 7:30 am-8:15 am Clients who take prescriptions for their addictions or other illnesses receive their medications during a twice-daily med pass. Then, clients sit together for a nutritious breakfast.

  • 8:15-8:45 am An early group meditation session serves as a relaxing start to the morning.

  • 9-11 am Clients participate in a process group therapy session and share their experiences and thoughts. The process group is a judgment-free zone.

  • 11 am-12 pm Clients spend this period working towards the goals in their individualized recovery plan. Typical activities include completing assignments, journaling,or attending individual therapy sessions.

  • 12-1:00 pm Clients join together for a healthy, delicious lunch and a bit of unstructured downtime.

  • 1-3:00 pm During the educational group, our addiction specialists and therapy staff discuss vital coping skills and therapeutic strategies for maintaining sobriety.

  • 3:30-5:00 pm Physical exercise is key to emotional and physical well-being. We offer gym sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we host yoga sessions from 3 to 4 pm.

  • 5:30-6:30 pm Clients eat a hearty dinner and spend some time in the evening on their own activities.

  • 6:30-7:30 pm  Clients take part in a recovery meeting or book study held virtually or in person.

  • 7:30-8:30 pm During the final wrap-up group, clients reflect on the day and talk about their progress and challenges.

  • 8:30-10:00 pm After the nighttime med pass, clients can spend an hour and a half on self-chosen activities until lights out.

Advantages of a Structured Schedule for Addiction Treatment

For people in the early stages of recovery, a structured schedule can offer the best environment for introspection and healing. Clients in the residential program can also learn essential daily living skills, such as time management, goal-setting, and accountability.

Why is a structured schedule important for addiction treatment?

Following a predictable, structured schedule helps clients develop skills that are key to recovery. Routines build self-control and can increase confidence and self-esteem.

Can a structured schedule help prevent relapse?

Yes. Following a structured schedule during rehab helps create habits and routines that improve mental and physical health. Aftercare programs help clients maintain these routines and reduce the risk of relapse.

How does a structured schedule help people in addiction treatment manage their time?

By following SolutionPoint’s structured schedule, clients learn to fill their time with positive, productive experiences, such as exercise, therapy, and learning. Clients who transfer these routines into the real world are better equipped to maintain sobriety.

How can individuals in addiction treatment get the most benefit out of a structured schedule?

Clients can make the most out of their daily routine by setting clear, achievable goals every day. Hitting these daily milestones can help clients feel in control of their lives and serve as the building blocks for an enduring recovery.
